Cape Town is looking to bring down the price of special meters that feed in power to the grid.


Key Highlights :

1. The City of Cape Town is working to bring down the costs of metering for households that want to feed in excess power to the grid. This includes the procurement of renewable energy, as well as implementing incentives to get households and businesses to install rooftop solar PV.
2. The City is also working on a "drastic reduction" in price for the residential feed-in meter.
3. The Western Cape government is also aiming to raise funding from donors and partners so more schools could benefit from solar PV systems.
