Apple's last hope for convincing investors is its upcoming WWDC event.
Key Highlights :
Apple is expected to unveil its long-rumoured augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headset during the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the announcement will mark an important step in the company’s efforts to convince investors that the device has a chance to be the next star product.
“There is currently no competitor that can offer a comparable experience to Apple’s AR/VR headset,” Kuo said in a research note obtained by 9to5Mac. “Therefore, we believe the success of the device is highly dependent on the success of the new AR/VR content ecosystem.”
Apple has been working on the AR/VR headset for some time now, and the device is expected to feature a large display that would allow users to see virtual objects in real-time. The headset is also expected to include a motion sensors and a powerful processor, and it is possible that it could be released as a standalone product or as part of a new Apple TV set.
If the AR/VR headset is released as a standalone product, it is likely that it will cost more than the current generation of Apple products. However, if it is released as part of a new Apple TV set, it is likely that the price will be lower.
