Key Highlights :

1. Goalkeeper Salim Magoola returned for Richards Bay so did Katleho Maphathe, Sibonginhlanhla Mthethwa and Sanele Barns, while Arrows had Siyavuya Ndlovu suspended.
2. Arrows were ahead on five minutes after Ryan Moon attacked a pin-point delivery from a corner-kick and nodded in at the far post with the Natal Rich Boys defence caught square.
3. Former Orlando Pirates defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza could’ve levelled it up from a point-blank effort off a corner five minutes later, but his effort failed to trouble Arrows goalkeeper Sifiso Mlungwana.
4. With the match evenly balanced, Richards Bay were down to ten-men in the last ten minutes of the half when Abel Mabaso picked up a second yellow from a foul on Divine Lunga.
5. Abafana Besthende closed in again five minutes to halftime where Knox Mutizwa brought down a knockdown from Moon and lashed in before Magoola parried.
6. Richards Bay launched a swift reply barely a minute later after Sanele Barns staged a cut-in from a tight angle before bringing Mlungwana to a save, just after Mpho Mathebula came off the bench.
7. The Natal Rich Boys began the second half in mean mood and knocked on the visitors’ door with loads of balls punched into the danger area though lacked the killer instinct.
8. Abafana Besthende went close to doubling their tally midway in the second half with a half-volley at the back-post by Mutizwa, but he hit the top of the side-netting.
9. Arrows again should’ve wrapped up the clash late on through shots from Mutizwa and Gladwin Shitolo, but neither profited though it finished 1-0 as the visitors strengthened their top eight chances.

The Golden Arrows leapfrogged Richards Bay FC into sixth place on the DStv Premiership table with a 1-0 victory in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Saturday afternoon. The Arrows took the lead in the 36th minute through a superb strike from Sibusiso Zuma, who fired home from outside the box after being set up by Siphiwe Tshabalala. Richards Bay FC pulled one back through Siyabonga Zulu in the second half, but it was not enough to prevent the Arrows from securing their sixth victory of the season.

The win sees the Arrows move up to sixth place on the table, one point behind fourth-placed Durban United. The Arrows now have two games in hand on the Durban United side, with both fixtures taking place in KwaZulu-Natal. The next game for the Arrows is a home clash against Platinum Stars on Tuesday, before they travel to Cape Town to take on Cape Town City in the next round of the DStv Premiership.
