Countdown begins for the biggest investment ever in Lakatamia

The new owners have also spent another €10 million on infrastructure, such as a new hospital, a school and a water plant.

     

     The new owners are the Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization of America (HWZA), which was founded in 1897, and the Hadassah Medical Organization, which was founded in 1912. The two organizations merged in 1984, and today they operate under the name Hadassah Cyprus. The land in Lakatamia was donated by the Bank of Cyprus Remu to the new organization.

The new hospital, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016, will have a capacity of 100 beds. The school, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2017, will have a capacity of 400 students.
