Get a Closer Look at the Pixel Fold: Evan Blass Reveals Unfolded Tablet Mode
Key Highlights :
The upcoming Pixel Fold from Google has been the subject of much speculation, and now prolific leaker Evan Blass has revealed a third picture of the phone in its unfolded tablet mode. This latest image gives us a closer look at the device, including its thick bezel, widgets, and plastic bits that protect the hinge area.
The Pixel Fold is rumored to have a 7.6-inch screen with a 17.4:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2092 resolution at 408ppi. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate, 1550 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus cover glass. Inside, the folding OLED display will have a 6:5 aspect ratio and 1840 x 2208 resolution at 380ppi, with a 1450 nit peak brightness and plastic protective layer.
The Pixel Fold is said to be powered by a Tensor G2 processor backed by 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256 or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,821mAh battery with 30-watt wired charging. It will feature a triple camera array with a 48MP main sensor, augmented by two 10.8MP lenses — one ultrawide and one telephoto. Additionally, the device will have IPX8 water resistance, USB type-C 3.2 gen 2, and other features. It will be available in Obsidian or Porcelain.
The Pixel Fold is expected to make its debut at Google I/O 2023 in just over a week’s time. It could be a big one for Google hardware with both the Pixel 7a and Pixel Tablet also expected to feature. Judging by the latest leaks, the Pixel Fold looks like it will be a powerful device with plenty of room for widgets. It remains to be seen how it will fare against the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4, but one thing is for certain: the Pixel Fold is sure to be one of the most talked about devices of the year.
