Heroic Young Boy in Michigan Takes the Wheel and Saves the Day
Key Highlights :
When Dillon Reeves, a young boy from Michigan, shouted “Someone call 911. Now!”, he was responding to an emergency situation on a school bus in the Detroit area. The bus driver had passed out, and the bus was veering towards oncoming traffic. Without hesitation, Dillon jumped into action, grabbing the steering wheel and hitting the brake pedal, bringing the vehicle to a safe stop.
Dillon’s heroic actions were caught on video camera, and he was praised by Robert Livernois, the superintendent of Warren Consolidated Schools. “In my 35-plus years of education, this was an extraordinary act of courage and maturity on his part,” Livernois said.
The incident unfolded quickly, and adults on the bus were able to help the children out of the back door. “I don’t know that it could have gone any better,” Livernois said.
Dillon’s parents, Steve and Ireta Reeves, were proud of their son’s heroic actions. “We’ve got a little hero,” Dillon’s father said. “He’s been on my lap driving country roads, pulling into driveways since about four years old... He’s a good driver.”
Dillon’s heroic actions are a reminder of the importance of being prepared and knowing what to do in an emergency situation. It also serves as an example of the courage and maturity that young people can display in difficult circumstances.
Dillon’s story has been shared widely, and he has been hailed a hero for his quick thinking and fast response. It’s a reminder that even the youngest among us can make a difference in times of need.
