1. A group of history enthusiasts in a South Cambridgeshire village are working to bring their village's lost pub crawl to life - one walking tour at a time.
2. The Lost pub tours have proved particularly popular, with more than 100 joining at the beginning of 2023 to rediscover Duxford’s former watering holes.
3. Asked how the History Society became so popular, Michael credited Jim Longstaff, a local historian with a passion for local history, with the renewed interest in the history of the village.
4. The Lost pub crawl tours have been popularized by Michael Priestley, 73, who has lived in the village for more than 20 years.
5. The Duxford History Society meets monthly - on the first Monday between 10am and 12pm.
6. On Easter Monday (April 10) they’ve planned a new Duxford History Walk.

     When I was first looking for a place to live, I was really excited about the number of pubs that were available to me. Imagine you were a bachelor and you had nine pubs to choose from. I started to imagine what route you would take.

     The first place you would go would be the one that was closest to you. After that, you would go to the one with the best food. Finally, you would go to the one with the best atmosphere.

     After living in England for a while, I have learned that the best pubs are the ones that have a great atmosphere. The best atmosphere is usually created by having a good mix of people. You have to have people who are young, old, and everything in between.

     Another great thing about pubs is that they are always changing. You can always expect something new and exciting to happen. This is why I always enjoy going to pubs.
