On Sunday, April 2, Melco Cyprus, operator of Cyprus Casinos (C2) and the upcoming integrated resort (IR), City of Dreams Mediterranean, organised a tree planting activity in Eptagonia, Limassol. Eptagonia is one of several areas struck by wildfires in July 2021, which burned around 55 square kilometres of forest land, houses, and properties in rural areas of Cyprus.

The tree planting activity was attended by Melco Cyprus’ Chairman, Mr. Kyriakos Solomos, Mr. Christos Zervas, Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Konstantinos Kourides, Director of the Department of Rural Development and Environment of the Municipality of Limassol, and representatives of the Cyprus Casinos (C2) and the upcoming integrated resort (IR), City of Dreams Mediterranean.

The participants planted around 1,000 trees in Eptagonia, which will provide shade, fruit, and floral supplies to the local community. The tree planting activity was also supported by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), which donated around 2,000 trees to the event.

Melco Cyprus is committed to helping the local community recover from the wildfires and restore their livelihoods. The tree planting activity is another step in that direction, and we hope it will have a positive impact on the local community.
