12. Earlier, skipper Ahmad Faiz top scored for Malaysia with 76 off 85 balls with the help of eight boundaries and a six, while Virandeep Singh contributed 94-ball 46.
13. Other batters failed to make notable contributions although six players scored in double figures.
14. Faiz and Singh shared a 116- run stand for the second wicket but others could not build partnerships after they were dismissed in the space of 17 runs and Malaysia lost seven wickets for 80 runs in 13 overs.
15. Sompal Kami (3-40) and Sandeep Lamichhane (3-48) shared six wickets between them, while Lalit Rajbanshi grabbed two wickets for Nepal and Gulsan Jha pocketed one.
16. At the Mulpani grounds, Hong Kong skittled Singapore out for a paltry 174 runs and raced to 175-2 with 102 balls remaining.

     Kathmandu, April 18Bhim Sharki and Kushal Malla scored half centuries as Nepal defeated Malaysia by six wickets, while Hong Kong outplayed Singapore by eight wickets in the opening match of the ICC World Cricket League Division Four in Kathmandu.

     Bhim Sharki, who scored an unbeaten 55 off just 33 balls, and Kushal Malla, who made an unbeaten 49 off 38 balls, helped Nepal post a total of 183 for six, which was enough to defeat Malaysia by six wickets.

     Hong Kong, who were batting first, reached their target in just 19.5 overs, thanks to an unbeaten century from Tanwir Afzal.

     The other two matches of the day saw Singapore fall to Hong Kong by eight wickets, while Japan defeated Macau by five wickets.
