     The City Council’s female Republicans are demanding that a bill banning trans women from women’s sports at colleges and public schools reach Congress.

     The Council’s Republican women are the first in the nation to take this stand and they are joined by the National Organization for Women, which released a statement saying, “Transgender women are women and should be able to participate in women’s sports just as any other woman can.”

     The Council’s Republican women argue that the exclusion of trans women from women’s sports is a form of discrimination and it is something that needs to be addressed.

     The Council’s Republican women are also concerned about the safety of trans women who are competing in women’s sports. They worry that trans women who are not properly trained could put other women at risk.

     The Council’s Republican women are asking that the bill banning trans women from women’s sports at colleges and public schools reach Congress so that the issue can be properly studied.
