Crucial points are up for grabs for both sides in the race for continental football this evening. With the Buccaneers looking to move two points clear into second spot on the log with a win, and City aiming to move to within five points behind Orlando Pirates, there is a lot at stake in today's match.
However, there is a major injury worry for the Buccaneers, as defender Tapelo Xoki is in a race against time to prove his fitness for the match. Xoki was stretchered off the field deep into extra time in the marathon cup fixture, and has since started the build-up to Saturday’s clash with some light training.
The match will be televised live on SuperSport PSL, but unfortunately for majority of Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City fans, the SABC will be televising the Royal AM and TS Galaxy clash instead.
Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler, is determined to make sure his side finishes as high as possible on the log, and is aiming to secure second spot in order to play in Africa next season. “Our objective is to finish as high as possible and that means we badly want to be second to play in Africa next season. We are going to go all the way until the end trying to make sure we are that team [in second] in the end,” he said.
