Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5: Could We See an Early Launch?
Key Highlights :
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 may be arriving a month earlier than expected, according to a recent rumor from leaker Revegnus. The rumor suggests that Samsung will begin production on the new foldable devices’ hinges at the start of June, rather than the end of June as in previous years. This would give the company a 3/4 week head start over earlier production cycles, potentially allowing them to launch their new foldables in July, a month earlier than expected.
However, other rumors suggest that Samsung is reworking the hinge design for their new foldables, in order to make them thinner and lighter while also decreasing the crease in the display and the gap between the two sides of the phone when closed. This could mean that Samsung isn’t planning to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 earlier, but is instead ensuring they have extra time to account for any potential production issues. This could mean that the new foldables will still launch in August, as is tradition.
We’ve also heard that Samsung’s next big overhaul for the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series may not come until next year’s Galaxy Z Fold 6/Z Flip 6. However, we’re still expecting some improvements to arrive this year, such as the new hinge design and lighter materials. Additionally, there may be upgrades like a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip, and new camera sensors for both the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold.
With the increasing competition from rivals like the Oppo Find N2 Flip, as well as rumored foldables from Google and OnePlus, it will be interesting to see if Samsung’s upgrades are enough to keep the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 at the top of the best foldables list. Only time will tell, but if the rumors of an early launch are true, we may not have to wait too long to find out.
