7. The court remarked that statements of witnesses should continue to be re­corded in these circumstances.
8. Subsequently, the court recorded statements of two prosecution witnesses and adjourned further proceedings till May 2.


     The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday adjourned hearing of MPA Bilal Yasin attack case till May 2. Yasin had earlier pleaded not guilty to charges of attacking a lawmaker and injuring him with a knife at a political rally in Lahore on March 8 last year.

     The court had earlier reserved its verdict in the case. The prosecution had urged the court to award capital punishment to Yasin, while the defence had pleaded for a life imprisonment.

     Yasin had earlier told the court that he had acted in self-defence after the lawmaker, Shafiq Ahmed, had attacked him with a knife.

     Ahmed had earlier told the court that he had been attacked by Yasin and his accomplices with knives and swords.

     The lawmaker had sustained injuries on his neck and back in the attack.
