The Blue Jays' four-game win streak came to an end Wednesday night as they were defeated by the L.

Key Highlights :

1. Jose Berrios had a poor outing, giving up four earned runs in 4.0 innings to the Angels.
2. The pitching problem that is right-hander Jose Berrios continues. In his second start of the season Saturday night against the host L.A. Angels, Berrios started well and received the necessary run support that seemed to bode well when Toronto’s vaunted top of the order staked the Jays to a 4-0 advantage. However, it would later vanish as the Blue Jays were extinguished by the Halos.
3. Pitching, which was on point in Friday’s comeback win, emerged as a sore point. Oddly enough, in early game moments of duress, Berrios buckled down and would record key outs. He then buckled under the pressure, once again the victim of location issues. Unlike Chris Bassitt, who rebounded from a poor opening start by pitching much better in his second outing in the series opener in Anaheim, Berrios was a bust.
4. There’s too much money invested in Berrios, but it’s obvious the Jays are not getting any bang for their buck.
5. Berrios went 5.2 innings in Kansas City when Berrios made his first start of the season, an outing that would see Berrios give up eight runs to the lowly Royals. He surrendered four earned runs in 4.0 innings to the Angels, who took the lead in the fifth when Berrios left the game with runners at first and second.
6. The big blow came off the bat of Mike Trout, who took reliever Adam Cimber deep for a three-run home run.
7. In addition, Bichette was caught trying to steal second with one out in the seventh. With the Jays set to return home from their season-opening 10-game trip, fans will see a different team, and clearly a better team, in how it approaches its at-bats.
8. Bichette went deep Friday for the winning blast and he went yard in his second at-bat Saturday.
9. Clean-up hitter Matt Chapman went deep two batters later to record his first long ball of the season. For Chapman, it was his MLB-leading 15th hit of the season. Chapman later hit his MLB-leading seventh double.
10. With uber agent Scott Boras in attendance at Angel Stadium, Chapman’s expected windfall keeps climbing when he’s scheduled to become a free agent at season’s end.
