Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hailed Havard Nordtveit as a potential rival to Barcelona and Real Madrid's Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nordtveit, who joined City from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer, scored the third goal in City's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Guardiola said: "He is a very good player. He can score goals, he is strong and he is fast.
"He has everything to be a top player. He is a very good addition to our team."
Nordtveit, who has made 10 appearances in all competitions for City this season, has scored three times, including the opener in the 2-0 Premier League win over Watford on Boxing Day.
The 23-year-old Norway international has been compared to Messi and Ronaldo, who are two of the world's best players.
"I don't know if he is as good as Messi and Ronaldo, but he is a very good player and he can improve a lot," Guardiola added.
"He is a very good addition to our team and he is going to help us a lot."
City open their FA Cup campaign against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
