Brad Sheppard and Ellen Taylor-Hawkins: A Forever Kind of Love
Key Highlights :
Former West Coast Eagles player Brad Sheppard has announced his engagement to nutritionist and podcaster Ellen Taylor-Hawkins on Instagram, and family and friends of the couple have been quick to congratulate them on the happy news.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Sheppard shared a snap of him proposing to Taylor-Hawkins on one knee, with the caption reading: “A forever kind of love.” Among those to congratulate the couple was Sheppard’s sister Sophie, who wrote: “Yay!!! Congratulations!! So happy for you both and so special to be up here to celebrate with you!! Can’t wait to have you as an ‘official’ sis bring on the wedding wooohooooooo!!”
Former Eagles player Mark Lecras also congratulated the couple, writing: “Yeeeew congratulations guys!!”
Sheppard and Taylor-Hawkins have been social media official since July 2020, when Sheppard shared a snap of homemade cupcakes with icing spelling out “welcome home” after his return from the Gold Coast.
The former AFL star retired from the Eagles in 2021 at the age of 30, after multiple concussions posed serious health risks. He then moved up north of WA to live the “Broome lifestyle” with his now fiancée.
Sheppard is currently working at a local car dealership and is also a Lifeline WA Ambassador.
The couple’s engagement news comes after Sheppard’s split with Nine weather presenter Scherri-Lee Briggs in 2019. The former Miss Universe Australia winner has since moved on and recently married another former Eagle, Daniel Venables, in an outdoor ceremony in Perth in March 2023.
We wish Brad Sheppard and Ellen Taylor-Hawkins all the best in their upcoming nuptials and a lifetime of happiness together.
