Cambridgeshire Bank Holiday Opening Times for Major Supermarkets

     With the Bank Holiday weekend coming up on Monday, May 29, it’s important to know what changes the major supermarkets are making to their opening times across Cambridgeshire. Depending on the store, you may find some smaller, local stores open for slightly longer whilst the main retail giants will alter their hours to give staff a bit more time off. Below, we have listed all the major supermarkets and their change in times across Cambridgeshire.

     Aldi has said normal opening hours will remain in place at Aldi’s 990 stores on Saturdays and Sundays which may vary from store to store. Stores will be open until 8pm on Monday, May 29 in England and Wales. This will apply to stores in Cambridge, Chatteris, St Neots, Huntingdon, Ely, St Ives and Wisbech. You can use the store locator here to find your nearest Aldi. Stores in Scotland will be open until 10pm as usual.

     On the Monday bank holiday, most Asda supermarkets will open from 8am to 8pm - this includes the supermarket's 24-hour stores too. Some sites will be opening a little earlier at either 6am or 7am. On Saturday and Sunday, it will be usual times but hours will vary from store to store so customers are being urged to check individual opening times on the online store locator.

     On the Bank Holiday Monday Lidl supermarkets will be opening between 8am to 8pm however, this may vary from store to store. Check your local store on the Lidl website. On Saturday it will be normal times of 8am and 10pm and Sunday, 10am and 4pm.

     Morrisons

     Morrisons stores usually open at either 6am or 7am and close 10pm or 11pm on a typical weekday or Saturday. This will remain the same over the bank holiday weekend. It is worth checking your local branch here.

     Sainsbury's

     Sainsbury's is pretty much open as normal on Monday and will see larger stores in England open from 8am to 8pm. Smaller Sainsbury's Local stores will be open from 7am to 11pm. On Saturday and Sunday, stores will open at their usual times but this does vary across the country so it's always worth checking your local branch here.

     Tesco stores will be open as normal over the weekend leading. However on Monday (May 29) the majority of Tesco’s larger stores will be open from 8am to 6pm instead of their usual 10pm or 24-hour service. You can find your nearest store here.
