Job Creation Booms in Limerick with 700 New Positions Announced


Key Highlights :

1. H&MV is the latest company to announce a major jobs boost in Limerick. They are expected to create 700 new jobs over the next five years.
2. Earlier this month, French sports retailer Decathlon opened their second Irish store in Limerick. This is expected to create 64 new jobs.
3. Universal Display Corporation and PPG also officially opened a new state-of-the-art organic light-emitting diode (OLED) manufacturing facility in Shannon. This is expected to create 100 new jobs.




     Limerick is booming with job creation this month, with 700 new positions announced in the city and county. Electrical engineering firm H&MV opened their new global headquarters in Castletroy, creating 350 jobs, and Analog Devices announced 600 new positions in Raheen. These job announcements are in addition to those from Apex Group Ltd, Decathlon, Universal Display Corporation and PPG, who are all investing in Limerick and the Mid-West.

     Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Francis Foley, has welcomed the news, saying: “The announcement by H&MV tops off a bumper month for job creation in Limerick. We have so many prominent companies not just coming into Limerick but locally based companies that are expanding. It is a good sign for our economy that the jobs that have been recently announced are drawing their workers from a number of different talent pools. It’s a vote of confidence in the whole region.”

     Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly, believes that Limerick’s talent and work life balance are reasons why companies are investing in the city. He said: “We have the talent and Limerick offers a great work life balance. Limerick City and County Council work with businesses to help maximise their opportunities for success. This is done in collaboration with other state agencies and our top class third level institutions. This approach is returning great dividends for Limerick.”

     The announcement of 700 new jobs in Limerick is a great boost for the city and county, and will help to create a vibrant and prosperous economy.
