Multan FIA Cybercrime Wing Arrests Accused for Harassing and Blackmailing Women

Multan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing arrested an accused from Vehari on Friday for allegedly harassing and blackmailing women through electronic communication. The raiding team, comprising of Sub Inspector Khalid Gujjar and ASI Zeeshan Khan, apprehended Mohsin Raza s/o Iftikhar Shah from Vehari.
The complainant stated that the accused was using Whatsapp to harass and blackmail his mother and sister with objectionable pictures and videos. Following the complaint, the FIA CCRC Multan registered a case against the accused under sections 21, 22, and 24 of PECA 2016 and R/W 506(b) PPC.
The arrest of the accused comes on the heels of the 'Youm-e-Takreem-e-Shuhada-e-Pakistan' (Day of Honouring Martyrs of Pakistan) which was celebrated in schools across Multan with the children paying glowing tributes to the martyrs and their sacrifices for the motherland.
Meanwhile, Secretary Local Government (LG) and Community Development Southern Punjab Ameen Awaisi visited the model cattle market, moza Jaswant Garh on Friday. He was accompanied by Chief Operating Officer, Haseeb Razaq Khan. The SDO of the building department briefed the visiting officials about the development projects that were completed and those that were underway. Ameen Awaisi directed the local authority to provide good facilities to the cattle buyers who would visit the market during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
In another incident, the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) administration issued orders to award punishments to four officials and employees for violating the Pakistan WAPDA Employees E&D Rules 1978. The punishment included stopping the increment of Acting SDO Noorpur Sub Division Pakpattan, M. Mushtaq.
The arrest of the accused from Vehari by the FIA Cybercrime Wing and the punishments awarded to the MEPCO officials and employees is a testament to the government's commitment to ensure justice and safety of its citizens. Such steps will go a long way in curbing cybercrime and other offences in the region.
