The '80s and '90s are making a comeback and it's never been more evident than with the success of shows like Stranger Things. From the classic titles

Key Highlights :

1. Base Arcade is running two days of sessions for classic arcade games in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter.
2. The demand for the sessions has led to the lads announcing a second set of dates.
3. The lads are hoping to find a permanent space to host an arcade.

David Hughes, Stephen Currie and Marty Neill have been working hard to bring the classic arcade experience to Belfast and they have been overwhelmed by the support they have received. With the first two days of sessions selling out in record time, they have now announced a second set of dates for May 13th and 14th at The Oh Yeah Centre.

The trio have been sourcing, fixing and repairing the machines, some of which are older than them, and they have been tinkering with them to ensure that people don't have to pour an ocean of coins into them. Instead, they are charging people for tickets and setting the machines to free play so that they can play as many times as they want. Pinball machines from the Irish Pinball League will also be available to add to the classic '80s and '90s experience.

The first session of both days will be family-friendly, so that dads and mums can bring their kids to experience some of the classic games that they would have played when they were younger.

The longterm aim for Base Arcade is to find a suitable space to permanently host the arcade. They are getting lots of interest and are hoping to be able to accommodate corporate and stag interests.
