Brighton have enquired about Ajax's 22-year-old attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of a potential move for Moises Caicedo. The Ghana international has been a long sought-after target for Premier League clubs, with Everton and Liverpool both showing interest in the past. Kudus has been key to Ajax's success in recent years, having scored 24 goals in 83 matches and 11 goals in 30 appearances this season.

Brighton are also looking to replace Alexis Mac Allister, who left the club at the start of June for £35 million. Kudus plays in a similar advanced midfield role and could be an ideal replacement. The Seagulls are also preparing to lose Moises Caicedo, with Chelsea preparing a second offer for the Ecuadorian.

Brighton have already signed James Milner, Mahmoud Dahoud and Joao Pedro and are closing on Anderlecht keeper Bart Verbruggen. They are also interested in Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams as they wait for Chelsea's next offer for Caicedo. Manchester United are also reportedly interested in the midfielder, after failing to secure Mason Mount.

Should Caicedo leave the Amex Stadium, the necessity of Brighton's quest to sign new midfielders, including Kudus, would intensify. Kudus has already won two Eredivisie titles and a Dutch domestic cup, and has also scored four goals in six Champions League matches.

Brighton's interest in Kudus comes as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of a potential move for Moises Caicedo, with Chelsea preparing a higher bid for the Ecuadorian. Stay updated with all the latest transfer news, gossip and info at Mail Sport.
