Key Highlights :
Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph Baena has teased that he is "starting to catch up" to his father lifting weights and added that he is the "best training partner" in the gym. Joseph, 25, has followed in his father's footsteps in recent years by becoming a bodybuilder and more recently pursuing a career in acting just like Arnold, 75. He recently spoke about training with his father in the gym and shared the advice that he has been given as he embarks on his own career as an actor moving forward.
Joseph said: "He's the best training partner even though I'm starting to lift a little ... I'm starting to catch up with the weights. He pushes me so much in the gym and we love training together."
Joseph spoke about his dad whilst being interviewed by Extra at the premiere of Netflix series FUBAR in Los Angeles last month. The show is one of Arnold's latest projects. He was asked whilst on the red carpet who is the strongest out of the father and son duo, with Joseph teasing that his dad will "always be the strongest in the family".
And he shared the advice that his dad has given him about being an actor, with Arnold having enjoyed a decades-long career in the industry, including in films like The Terminator. Joseph said at the TV show premiere that Arnold is "really supportive" and pushes him to "work really hard," including encouraging him to make projects his own and "do it on [his] own".
Joseph is the youngest of Arnold's five children. He fathered him with Mildred Baena, now 62, whilst married to Maria Shriver, now 67, with whom he shares his other four kids. Joseph is understood to be a fitness model alongside being a bodybuilder and an actor. He also launched a career as a real estate agent in 2021 and is said to be a DJ too.
Arnold and Maria's eldest child is Katherine Schwarzenegger, 33. She has pursued a career as an author instead and shares two children with her husband Chris Pratt, 43. The former couple are also parents to film producer Christina Schwarzenegger, 31, whose career has included being an editor at Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop. Their eldest son is Patrick Schwarzenegger, 29, who has pursued a career in acting himself, having appeared in films like Midnight Sun (2018) and TV shows such as The Staircase. Arnold and Maria's youngest child Christopher Schwarzenegger, 25, has tended to keep out of the spotlight. His father however has shared insights into his life on social media.
Joseph has revealed that his father's main piece of advice to him has been to "do the reps" when it comes to acting. He said that it's all about practice, practice, practice and he's taken this advice to heart when it comes to his roles. Joseph added that his dad is the "best training partner" and that he's "starting to catch up" in the gym.
