A group under the auspices of the Ilaje Development Summit Group has alleged that a plan is going on from certain quarters in the state to remove the deputy governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The group said the plot was to fabricate unfounded allegations against the deputy governor to prepare the grounds for his impeachment.

In a letter addressed to the governor signed by the Deputy Executive Administrator of the association, Mr Ola Ajidibo, and made available to our correspondent on Wednesday, the group alleged that the plot was an attempt to circumvent the constitutional requirement of Aiyedatiwa to assume the role of acting governor in the absence of the governor.

While describing the recent development in the state as part of a coordinated effort to remove Aiyedatiwa from office, the group called on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to caution those behind the plot as it could strain the relationship between him and the people of Ilaje.

The letter read, “We have confirmed that the allegations of domestic abuse by the Deputy Governor of his beloved wife, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, is a fabrication from the pit of hell and designed to generate an impeachable offence since there is no other ploy that the plotters could employ. Hon. Aiyedatiwa could not be accused of financial impropriety, of being unfaithful to his wife, or of generally not living a disciplined life.

The group alleged that the plot to remove Aiyedatiwa was an attempt to undermine the constitutional provisions of the state and to manipulate the political process. They also noted that the allegations of domestic abuse against Aiyedatiwa were unfounded and were being used to discredit him.

The group urged the people of Ondo State to remain vigilant and resist any attempt to subvert the democratic process. They also urged Governor Akeredolu to intervene in the situation and call those behind the plot to order.
