Renowned cleric and the founder of Christ Apostolic Church Boanerges Worldwide, Prophet Ade Ologbonyo, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the President Bola Tinubu administration on the removal of fuel subsidy removal, which he described as starting on the right foot. Ologbonyo, who said Tinubu had started well with fuel subsidy removal, however, urged the Federal Government “to urgently come up with palliatives to ease the effects of subsidy removal on the people.

He called for an economic policy that will stop traders and service providers from arbitrary increases in prices of the goods and services. The cleric spoke at Ise/Orun Ekiti on Wednesday at a press conference heralding the weeklong 14th-anniversary celebration of the ministry, which he said would feature praise night, couples’ summit, free health mission, and as well attract firebrand ministers of God.

Prophet Ade Ologbonyo urged Nigerians to pray for God’s guidance for the new government to be successful in achieving the much-needed unity in the country, saying, “We are separated and divided already. Tinubu must bring the country back together.” He added that the President should prioritize the security of lives and properties and work hard to fix the country’s economy which is in shambles.

Since the fuel subsidy has been removed, Ologbonyo called for the government to come up with palliatives to reduce its harsh effect on the people. He said the subsidy removal is a perfect step by any Nigerian leader that will do right, and that Nigerians just need to be patient a little and government too needs to keep negotiating and come up with a palliative to ease the impacts of the fuel subsidy on the people.

The palliatives should start from the civil servants with the upward review of their salaries, and there should be a price control policy that will help the government to monitor the activities of market women and other traders, thereby stopping them from charging outrageous prices for their goods and services in order not to bring hardship to the masses.

Prophet Ade Ologbonyo urged Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu and his administration on the removal of fuel subsidy, and to trust that the government will come up with the necessary palliatives to ease the effects of subsidy removal on the people. He also called for an economic policy that will stop traders and service providers from arbitrary increases in prices of the goods and services.
