The Survey Reveals: Two-Third of Companies Believe AI Interviews Will Improve Hiring Efficiency
Key Highlights :
The advent of ChatGPT and Bard, two of the most advanced artificial intelligence tools, has changed the way we look at the future. Companies are now looking at using AI technology for interviews to select their prospective employees. A survey conducted by Resume Builder recently revealed that 10% of companies are already using AI interviews and 43% of companies plan on using AI technology for interviews in the near future.
The survey also revealed that two-thirds of the companies surveyed believed that AI interviews will improve the efficiency of hiring and more than half of the surveyed opine that AI will eventually replace the hiring managers in the near future.
However, there are concerns around AI tools replacing humans and the potential bias of AI interviews. 80% of the respondents said that AI may screen out some qualified candidates and only 15% of the respondents believe that the hiring practice should be completely left to AI without any human input.
Stacie Haller, Resume Builder's chief career advisor, explained that the candidates are not well-versed in interviewing with the bot which is quite different from interacting with another human being. She added that time will tell if AI interviews will really accomplish the end goal of hiring the best candidates for the position or eliminate great candidates and move forward more unqualified candidates resulting in a turnover.
Therefore, it is important to consider both the advantages and disadvantages of AI interviews before implementing them in the hiring process. AI interviews can be a great way to improve the efficiency of the hiring process, but it is important to ensure that the bias does not eliminate some qualified candidates.
