Elon Musk Wants Twitter Users to Get Verified to Earn Thousands of Dollars
Key Highlights :
Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has recently requested Twitter users to become verified subscribers in order to earn thousands of dollars per month in ad revenue sharing. Without explaining how users can do this without registering 5 million impressions per month and having more than 10,000 followers – the two key conditions in order to make money via ad revenue sharing on Twitter – Musk asked them to join Twitter Blue paid subscription.
Many Twitter users have been waiting for months to get a verified account, and now Musk is offering them the chance to earn money through the platform. To become a verified subscriber, users have to pay a fee of $7 per month (annual plan). This subscription will give them access to exclusive features and the ability to earn money through ad revenue sharing.
When asked by one user how they can make money despite having millions of monthly impressions, Musk said that intentional payments are more complex, “but the accumulation of ad revenue share from February will apply”. He also said that users will soon be paid for ads appearing when others view their profile page, approximately doubling payouts.
However, Musk has admitted that Twitter still has negative cash flow, “due to 50 per cent drop in advertising revenue plus heavy debt load”. He said that the micro-blogging platform needs to reach positive cash flow before it can offer anything else.
