David Moyes’ side will be looking to put the disappointment of Rice’s departure behind them as they step out onto the Optus Stadium pitch. The Hammers have already made a number of signings this summer, with the likes of Joseph Anang, Lukasz Fabianski and Danny Ings all making the trip Down Under.

The Optus Stadium opened in 2018, and has become a key cricket venue after the iconic WACA’s demise. The stadium is still filling up in Perth, where the sun has already set, and the players have begun to arrive.

West Ham have announced their starting XI, with European hero Fornals starting, and Bowen on the bench for this pre-season game. The Hammers will be without the services of Declan Rice, who has left the club for a British record fee. Rice has sent an open letter to West Ham fans ahead of his impending move to Arsenal.

Perth Glory have also announced their starting XI, with the likes of Diego Castro, Bruno Fornaroli and Chris Ikonomidis all set to feature.
