SuperSport United Make Transfer Swoop for Orlando Pirates Hero Terrence Dzvukamanja
Key Highlights :
Orlando Pirates hero Terrence Dzvukamanja is set to join SuperSport United in a transfer swoop for the Tshwane side. The Zimbabwean has agreed to join Gavin Hunt's side ahead of the upcoming season, and is expected to be unveiled later this week.
The Buccaneers have since turned their attentions to Patrick Maswanganyi who recently joined. Similarly, Mamelodi Sundowns’ striker Etiosa Ighodaro is also set to complete a switch to SuperSport. The 22-year-old Ighodaro impressed last season while on loan at Chippa United.
SuperSport have also added former Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Washington Arubi to their squad. Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Eric Mathoho is no longer training with SuperSport after failing to impress the technical team.
"Mathoho trained with the club for few days, they are in Durban on a training camp," a source within the club reveals. "He [Mathoho] was just not what they were looking for. Players who are joining the club are Dzvukamanja, Ighodaro and Arubi. There are also five or six youngsters who will be promoted to the senior team from the development side. The club do not have finances to buy players. Dzvukamanja signed a pre-contract agreement, but details are still being finalised. Pirates have managed to bring in Patrick Maswanganyi."
It is clear that SuperSport United are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, and the addition of Terrence Dzvukamanja is sure to add some much-needed firepower to the team. The Zimbabwean was the hero of the Nedbank Cup final last season, scoring the winning goal against Bloemfontein Celtic in the dying moments of the game.
Dzvukamanja is a proven goal-scorer and will certainly be a welcome addition to the SuperSport United squad. With the addition of Etiosa Ighodaro and Washington Arubi, the Tshwane side will be looking to challenge for honours this season. It will be interesting to see how the new signings fare in the upcoming campaign.
