Former President Donald Trump Indicted in Georgia Following Two-Year Investigation

Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, was indicted by the Atlanta District Attorney on August 14th, 2021 following a two-year investigation into his efforts to overturn the election results in Georgia. The indictment also included an additional 30 unindicted co-conspirators in addition to the 19 charged defendants, which include Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Kenneth Chesebro, Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Tresher, Still Stephen Lee Harrison, Floyd Trevian Kutti, and Sidney.
The indictment stated that Trump and the other defendants “knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump.” The enterprise “engaged in various related criminal activities including, but not limited to, false statements and writings, impersonating a public officer, forgery, filing false documents, influencing witnesses, computer theft, computer trespass, computer invasion of privacy, conspiracy to defraud the state, acts involving theft, and perjury.”
The grand jury’s findings showed that there was no sign of widespread voter fraud found in Georgia during the 2020 election. Ahead of the full report’s release, the grand jury’s foreperson gave a series of interviews, where she said that the grand jury was going to recommend at least a dozen indictments.
