Google is celebrating its 25th birthday this year with confetti and a special logo doodle to honor its logo evolution. Twenty-five years ago, American computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin created the search-engine tech giant that has become one of the most influential companies in the world. To celebrate its 25th birthday, Google has given us all sorts of nostalgic surprises, including its signature Google doodles and Easter eggs.

Google Doodles are fun little images or animations that appear on Google’s home page to commemorate holidays, anniversaries, and other events. For instance, on Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary in 2010, you could play the game in a G-O-O-G-L-E-shaped map on Google’s home page. And one of my favorite Easter eggs on the site appears when you search “askew” and the whole page turns slightly askew. According to USA Today, Google has created more than 5,000 Google Doodles to date.

For Google’s 25th anniversary, if you search “happy birthday”, hum the tune, or ask Google to translate the words “happy birthday”, confetti will fall down across the page. In the top left of your Google page, you’ll see that the two O’s are replaced with a two and a five, representing the 25-year anniversary of the company. And if you go to Google’s home page, you’ll see a special Google Doodle for its birthday honoring its logo evolution.

Google has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a research project by two Stanford University students. It has become one of the most influential companies in the world, with a wide range of products and services, including its search engine, Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, and Android. Google has also been a pioneer in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other cutting-edge technologies.

As Google enters its 25th year, I, for one, am excited to see how it manages its quarter life crisis. Maybe a motorcycle? Whatever it does, I’m sure it will be as innovative and influential as ever. Happy birthday, Google! Thanks for the doodles!
