Last week, Terra announced on Instagram that the restaurant had closed, saying “It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the closure of Terra. It has been an honor to share this culinary dream with Denver.”
Bellota, a Mexican restaurant located in the Source Market Hall + Hotel, opened in 2020 and closed its doors permanently on September 2. Half Eaten Cookie Hospitality, which also owns OAK at Fourteenth and Corrida in Boulder, opened the restaurant in place of , after seven years. Bellota’s second location remains open.

Barry’s on Broadway is closing at the end of the month after 20 years. Barry Zadikoff, the bar’s owner, made the decision after failing to reach a new lease agreement with the landlord. The neighborhood dive bar was popular for its witty marquee sign messages, cheap drinks and skee ball.
The closures of these restaurants and bars are a reminder of the ever-changing nature of the restaurant industry. While it can be hard to say goodbye to these beloved Denver establishments, we can take solace in the knowledge that the chefs, owners and staff have created lasting memories for their guests.
