Welcome to the Bee Network - Buy Tickets Now for Bolton's Bus Launch Next Week
Key Highlights :
With the launch of the Bee Network buses in Bolton next week, people in the town can now buy tickets for the buses via a new website and app. The Bee Network buses are set to replace Manchester's existing bus brands over the next 18 months, and will include 50 zero emission electric buses.
The new website and app, available on both the Google and Apple stores, allow people to plan journeys, buy tickets, see live departure times, and rate their journeys. As well as this, the buses will feature passenger information screens, space for two wheelchairs, CCTV, and two-way radios for security.
The Bee Network buses promise more buses running, earlier and later buses to link up with first and last trams and trains, more travel safe officers, and more flexible and affordable tickets to be made available to the public.
In a statement, Bolton Council said: "You'll still get the new, lower fares that launched recently, but you'll also see a lot more of the new and refurbished yellow buses, including all-new electric buses. Say yellow to better buses."
The services, run by Go North West, will begin on the morning of Sunday September 24, with more than 1,000 workers ready to run 320 buses across 50 lines around Bolton and Wigan.
With the launch of the Bee Network, people in Bolton, Wigan, and parts of Bury, Salford and Manchester will be able to access a more joined-up network of buses, trams and trains. To find out more about the Bee Network buses and the new timetables, visit the website here.
