Bandra Born: Chef Gresham Fernandes' New F&B Idea Blends Vintage Memories and Refined Cuisine
Key Highlights :
When Chef Gresham Fernandes decided to end the 15-year-long run of Salt Water Café, he was ready to embark on a new journey – Bandra Born. Located in the same space, Bandra Born is a 12-week-pop-up that offers a unique experience, blending vintage memories with refined culinary chops.
The interiors of the new space have been given a complete makeover with graffiti, hip design and a bright neon sign that reads ‘Bandra Born’. Design studio Bombay Duck has done an amazing job of creating a distinct vibe that is a clear departure from the old one.
The menu at Bandra Born has been carefully crafted by Chef Fernandes, with a focus on flavour and fun. The bites are diverse and offer something for everyone. From the Shippy’s Sandwich to the Kamina Karpaccio, each dish is sure to tantalize your taste buds. The drinks menu is equally impressive, with craft beers from Great State Aleworks and cocktails like Patricia’s Pussycat and Buzz Bazaar.
The idea behind Bandra Born is to offer a unique experience that is rooted in the memories of the suburb. Fernandes has managed to capture the essence of Bandra perfectly, from the afternoons spent at the skateboard parks to the village coming together to prepare meat for a wedding. The menu is a hat tip to this suburb that has been a part of the chef’s life for many years.
The space is open for dinner service post 8 pm and the team is looking to expand to lunch and dinner service soon. Whether you’re looking for a fun family lunch or a night out with friends, Bandra Born has something for everyone.
So, if you’re looking for an experience that blends vintage memories with refined culinary chops, head to Bandra Born for a unique experience.
