Key Highlights :

1. Wales have a mammoth task to claim a top-two place in Group D and automatic qualification for next summer's Euro finals.

3. James has senior status within Rob Page's squad and won his 46th cap in the 4-0 friendly victory against Gibraltar on Wednesday.

Daniel James is a 25-year-old Welsh international footballer who has been making a name for himself since his return to Leeds United this season. Following a disappointing loan spell at Fulham last season, James has shone in the Championship, quickly becoming a key player for Leeds.

On the international stage, James is one of the senior players in the Wales squad and is looking to lead the team to automatic qualification for the Euro 2024 finals. However, the team’s hopes were dealt a blow when Turkey beat Croatia on Thursday, leaving Wales needing to win their final three group games to secure top-two place in Group D.

Despite the setback, James remains confident that Wales can still achieve their goal. “We’ve gone into every game believing that we can win and it (qualification) is still in our hands,” he said. “Croatia lost the other night but they’re a great team that’s been to the semis and finals of World Cups. You can’t underestimate them at all.”

James has earned 46 caps for Wales and is now considered one of the senior players in the squad. He is aware of his role as a leader, but he is not a “big verbal leader” as he prefers to let his actions on the pitch do the talking. His fine early-season form at Leeds is a testament to this, and he is looking to build on this in the coming weeks.

James is also aware of the importance of role models and setting an example for younger players. He is joined at Leeds by fellow Wales teammates Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon, and he is keen to show them the right way to conduct themselves on and off the pitch.

James is looking forward to the upcoming match against Croatia in Cardiff on Sunday and is determined to give his all to help Wales qualify for the Euro 2024 finals. With his experience and determination, there is no doubt that he will be a key player for Wales in their bid to qualify.
