#DrChrisSteele: 35 Years of Informing the Nation on This Morning
Key Highlights :

Dr. Chris Steele has become a much-loved face on This Morning, providing viewers with sage advice and medical insight for the past 35 years. During his time on the show, the 78-year-old has spoken openly about his own health battles, including skin cancer and cataract surgery, in order to raise awareness among viewers.
In 1996, Dr. Chris was diagnosed with skin cancer on his left cheek and underwent surgery to have it removed. He allowed cameras into the operating theatre to show viewers that the procedure was nothing to be scared of and to start a conversation about the disease.
Unfortunately, Dr. Chris was diagnosed with skin cancer a second time in 2012, but he remained positive and reassured viewers that it was “purely the result of over-exposure to the sun and sunbeds.”
In 2016, Dr. Chris underwent cataract surgery and spoke to The Mirror about his experience. He said: “The thing with cataracts is that you don’t really notice the cloudiness in your eye lens at first. The blurriness is very fine and I don’t know when the tipping point was, but I just saw a gradual deterioration in my eyesight over time.”
Dr. Chris also used his platform to encourage viewers to get the Covid vaccine, posting on Twitter: “I had my Covid vaccination yesterday. I didn’t feel a thing except for huge sense of relief! GET INJECTED NOT INFECTED!!”
Dr. Chris Steele has become an iconic figure on This Morning, providing viewers with medical advice and insight for the past 35 years. His openness about his own health battles has helped to raise awareness among viewers and has encouraged many to seek medical help if they are worried about their own health. We’d like to thank Dr. Chris for his many years of service and wish him all the best for the future.
