Inverurie Locos Confirm Appointment of Former Player Dean Donaldson as New Head Coach

     Inverurie Locos have today confirmed the appointment of Dean Donaldson as their new head coach. Donaldson, a former Locos player, joins the club from Turriff United, where he had been in charge since January 2021.

     Donaldson has enjoyed a successful managerial career to date, with his time at Turriff United seeing steady improvement. In his first full season at the club (2021-22), they finished 17th in the Breedon Highland League, before improving to 12th last term. This season, United are currently fifth in the table with 18 points from nine league fixtures.

     The appointment of Dean Donaldson marks a new era for Inverurie Locos, with the club delighted to have secured the services of their former player. During his time at Harlaw Park, Donaldson netted 40 goals in 84 appearances and won two Aberdeenshire Shields. He also scored in each of his first five Locos appearances.

     Joining Donaldson as part of his coaching staff are first team assistant coaches Jamie Lennox and Greg Moir. The club believe that the new coaching team will provide the guidance and advice which will help to develop the current first team squad, as well as the next generation of Locos players.

     Inverurie Locos, who are currently 16th in the Breedon Highland League, will be looking to make a strong start under their new head coach when they take on Banks o’ Dee at Harlaw Park on Saturday. With the new coaching team in place, the future looks bright for the club as they look to build on their recent success.
