iPhone 15 Pro Users Still Experiencing Overheating Issues Despite Apple iOS Update
Key Highlights :
With the release of Apple’s new iPhone 15 Pro, many users were overjoyed by the phone’s sleek design and powerful hardware. But just weeks after the phone’s release, users began to report that their phones were overheating to dangerous levels. Apple released an iOS update this month to address the issue, but some users are still experiencing the same problems.
DailyMail.com has confirmed several reports from users whose devices are still becoming too hot to handle even after downloading iOS 17.0.3. Apple had claimed the new operating system would be a fix, as it said a software bug caused the excessive heat. But many users are still plagued by the issue, which occurs with Apple’s MagSafe Charger or even when the smartphone is idle.
Adarsh Kumar, a member of the Indian National for the state of Karnataka, told DailyMail.com that his iPhone 15 Pro still faces heating issues. Several images of these temperature checks have been shared online, with one showing a silver iPhone 15 Pro that clocked in at 108 degrees.
DailyMail.com also spoke with X user ‘Maxwell’ who confirmed his iPhone 15 Pro Max is still overheating after the iOS 17.0.3 update. Maxwell shared a screenshot of his smartphone that displayed a ‘Charging on Hold notification’ which reads “Charging will resume when iPhone returns to normal temperature.” He also shared that the speakers are still crackling, and the smartphone “can’t withstand a small drop.”
Other iPhone 15 Pro owners shared their frustrations on a MacRumors Forum, where many also cited issues while using a MagSafe charger. Some users reported their phones were overheating to more than 100F, while others said their phone would only overheat when charged with a MagSafe charger.
Despite the reports of overheating, some users reported the updated iOS fixed their iPhone 15 Pro overheating issue. An X user posted: “The overheating of iPhone 15 pro max has gone down for me since the update.” Some users also shared that they never had overheating issues with their iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.
Tech experts had believed the trouble was related to the iPhone 15’s new processor or titanium casing that houses the high-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. But Apple hit back at the claims, blaming the issue on a software bug. An Apple spokesperson told DailyMail.com that users might notice their iPhone 15 Pro feeling warmer when they set it up, restore from backup, wirelessly charge it, or use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps.
It appears Apple’s iOS update did not fix the overheating issue for all users. It’s unclear if Apple will release another update to address the issue, or if users will have to wait for the next iPhone model to be released. In the meantime, users experiencing overheating with their iPhone 15 Pro should contact Apple Support for help.
