Armadale Thistle Looking to Spring a Surprise at New Countess Park Tonight

     Armadale Thistle are the visitors to New Countess Park this evening (Tuesday) as they look to spring a surprise in the third round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup. The West Lothian side come in good form, having lost just three of their opening 13 league encounters and sitting second in the third tier of the East of Scotland Football League.

     The match kicks off at 7.30pm and fans can purchase tickets at the gate for Adults (£8), Concession (£4.50) and U16’s (FREE). Cash and card payments are accepted. Dunbar, who are also enjoying a fruitful season since returning to the Premier Division, will be looking to cause an upset of their own. Victory for Kevin Haynes and his team would mean a trip to either Dundonald Bluebell or Haddington Athletic.

     Meanwhile, Tranent look to continue their unbeaten run when they travel to Caledonian Braves in the Scottish Lowland Football League. The Belters picked up a point against Berwick Rangers on Saturday after coming from two goals down to draw 2-2. It will also mark the second testing match in a row for Caledonian Braves, who lost 2-1 to league leaders East Kilbride on Saturday and now sit 12th in the Lowland League table. The contest at Alliance Park kicks off at 7.45pm.

     Armadale Thistle will be hoping to take advantage of their good form and make it through to the next round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup. With a strong team and a passionate fan base behind them, the West Lothian side will be looking to put on a show and make a statement this evening. Can they spring a surprise and make it through to the next round? We’ll have to wait and see.
