#POWYS Cricketer Dylan McPhee Selected for Over 40s World Cup in South Africa

1. A POWYS cricketer has been included in the Welsh squad for the first ever Over 40s World Cup to be held in South Africa next year.
2. Dylan McPhee from Rhayader, who plays his club cricket for GB Liners Marches League side Builth Wells, will be part of the Welsh team which will be based in Cape Town from February 17th to March 2nd.
3. McPhee said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been selected to represent my country, it’s an honour to be part of and I can’t wait. It’s going to be an awesome experience.”

     POWYS cricketer Dylan McPhee has been selected to represent Wales in the first ever Over 40s World Cup to be held in South Africa in February next year. The GB Liners Marches League side Builth Wells player from Rhayader will join the Welsh team in Cape Town from February 17th to March 2nd.

     McPhee expressed his delight at being selected to represent his country. “I am absolutely delighted to have been selected to represent my country, it’s an honour to be part of and I can’t wait. It’s going to be an awesome experience,” he said.

     The Over 40s World Cup will be a very intense schedule with plenty of games and Wales will be up against some tough competition. Several teams will have ex-professionals in their squad and the hot South African weather will also be a factor. McPhee said that he has worked hard to get into the squad in the past 12 months, attending nets and playing in internationals against England and Ireland.

     McPhee said that he must thank his family and friends for their support over the last 12 months and also Builth Wells Cricket Club for providing him with facilities. He said that the hard work will continue throughout the winter in preparation for the tournament.

     The Over 40s World Cup will be a great opportunity for McPhee to showcase his skills and prove that age is just a number. The tournament is sure to be an exciting experience for all involved and McPhee will be hoping to help Wales to success.
