Share the Crafts Delight: Former Lisburn Woman Edith Moore Shares Her Passion for Crafting
Key Highlights :
When Edith Moore, a former Lisburn resident, decided to share her passion for crafting with others, she had no idea how popular her new group would be. Edith created ‘Crafters Delight’, a crafting group that meets fortnightly in Lurgan.
At the group, people of all ages and skill levels can learn new crafting skills or bring along their own projects to work on. Experienced crafters are always on hand to help those who are just starting out and to provide guidance to those who need it.
“I have always had an interest in crafts,” explains Edith. “I enjoy doing a range of crafts, including sewing, quilting, flower arranging, wreathmaking, knitting, crochet, baking, and card making. I wanted to share my passion with others and help them with their craft projects. I also wanted to inspire people who haven’t tried crafting before and help solve any problems people might have with projects they are working on. I wanted to give people the opportunity to meet up, develop friendships, try some crafts, and enjoy a cuppa and a scone at the same time.”
The group meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month upstairs at the YMCA in Lurgan from 10.30am until 12noon. There is a small charge of £4 to cover the cost of the venue. Edith is also offering wreathmaking classes on Tuesday December 5 at 10.30am-12.30pm at the YMCA in Lurgan, and an evening class at the Jethro Centre in Lurgan from 7pm-9pm. The class costs £25 and booking is essential. For further information or to book a place, contact 07599644317 or email [email protected].
Edith hopes that her crafting group will inspire others to get creative and have fun while learning something new. “I want to show people that crafting can be a great way to relax and have fun,” she says. “It’s a great way to socialise and meet new people while learning new skills. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.”
If you’re looking for a creative and social way to spend some time, why not check out ‘Crafters Delight’? With Edith’s help and guidance, you’ll be sure to have a great time.
