Speeding Offences: Drivers from Amman, Towy and Gwendraeth Valleys Face Court


Key Highlights :

1. 24, of Folland Road, Garnant, was caught speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on October 30 and was given three points on her licence.
2. 51, of Carmarthen Road, Gorslas, was caught speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on November 2 and was given five points on her licence.
3. 57, of Thomas Street, Llandeilo, was caught speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on November 2 and was given three points on her licence.
4. 55, of Bancyffynnon, Cross Hands, was caught speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on November 2 and was given three points on her licence.




     Recently, drivers from the Amman, Towy and Gwendraeth valleys were in court for speeding offences. The drivers were caught speeding on various roads and highways in Wales, and the court handed down sentences accordingly.

     24-year-old Natalie Williams of Folland Road in Garnant was caught speeding on April 25th on the A483 Fabian Way in St Thomas. She was driving a Peugeot 107 and was travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone. She was given three points on her licence and ordered to pay a £100 fine, but was not ordered to pay a surcharge or costs as it was issued as a fixed penalty notice.

     51-year-old Elizabeth Jones of Carmarthen Road in Gorslas was caught speeding on April 26th on Carmarthen Road near Kingsway. She was driving a BMW 118D and was travelling at 45mph in a 30mph zone. She was given five points on her licence and ordered to pay a £307 fine, £123 surcharge and £90 costs.

     57-year-old Sarah Thomas of Thomas Street in Llandeilo was caught speeding on April 30th on Mumbles Road, westbound in Blackpill. She was driving a Nissan Juke and was travelling at 35mph in a 30mph zone. She was given three points on her licence and ordered to pay a £115 fine, £46 surcharge and £90 costs.

     55-year-old David Davies of Bancyffynnon in Cross Hands was caught speeding on April 28th on the A465 Resolven. He was driving a Nissan Juke and was travelling at 81mph in a 70mph zone. He was given three points on his licence and ordered to pay a £200 fine, £80 surcharge and £90 costs.

     These drivers from the Amman, Towy and Gwendraeth valleys were all caught and convicted of speeding offences. The court handed down sentences accordingly, which ranged from three to five points on their licences and fines, surcharges and costs. It is important to remember that speed limits are in place for a reason and should be adhered to at all times.
